Dr. Guida Veiga
Guida is an Assistant Professor at the University of Évora, Portugal. Her research is focused on the connection between body and emotion, particularly the relationship between children's behaviour (i.e., play, social interactions) and social-emotional competence and the impact of body-oriented interventions (e.g., play, relaxation) on children's and adults' health and well-being. Guida is also interested in assessment methods, such as psychomotor assessment, systematic observation, sensor technology, or biological health indicators. Now she is co-supervising Brenda Sousa da Silva's PhD thesis along with Carolien Rieffe, Johan Frijns and Berna Güroglu on play in children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
