Dr. Ed Baines
Ed Baines is Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Education at the UCL Institute of Education, London. He has an extended record in educational and psychological research and has a long-standing interest in children’s interactions and relationships with peers within school classroom and playground settings, and collaborative group work in classrooms. Ed recently completed a third national survey of school breaktimes/ recess in England, an international survey of breaks/ recess, and is currently working with schools in London to make better and more sustained use of collaborative group work. Ed has written articles on these topics and is co-author of ‘The Child at School’ published by Routledge. He is a founding member of the RISE (Relationships and Interactions in School Environments) research group.
