On March 4th, Neetje defended her PhD dissertation on emotions and psychosocial development in children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
Neeltje's research shows that DLD children 9 to 16 years experienced enhanced difficulties in recognizing and understanding complex emotions which in turn impacted their social interactions. In practice, DLD children's emotional skills should not be overshadowed by the emphasis on their language development. Read more about her research here . Congratulations, Dr. Neeltje!
